Events

BRUNS Pflanzen takes the opportunity to present the company’s achievements at different events – for example at the Company Fair held in December and January of each year.

Another highlight is the sponsorship of the German and European Landscape Award.

BRUNS is also actively involved in many of the different regional and federal garden shows and garden festivals.


 

Opening of the German Federal Garden Show in Schwerin on 23rd April 2009
It was a beautiful day with clear blue skies when Federal President, Horst Köhler, opened the German Federal Garden Show on 23.04.2009 in Schwerin. During their visit to the showground, Federal President Köhler and his wife also stopped by the Bruns Tree Nursery stand.

The couple was delighted by the excellent quality and the gold medal which was awarded to the new rhododendron variety, “Eva Luise Köhler”, to which Frau Köhler gave her name in May 2007 at Bellevue Palace.
German Landscape Architecture Award 2009 – sponsored by Bruns Pflanzen
The bdla (German Federation of Landscape Architects) is sponsoring the competition for the 2009 German Landscape Architecture award. At the same time, the new website, www.deutscher-landschaftsarchitektur-preis.de, on which the bdla presents clearly-arranged, current information and impressions has gone live.

The German Landscape Architecture Award is presented to exemplary projects and their designers. The object is to achieve spatial and landscape planning that is both socially and ecologically oriented as well as an example of contemporary landscaping. For the first time, the bdla is awarding a special prize to the best private garden within the scope of the competition which it is organising in cooperation with the magazine, “Häuser”. Here the focus is upon the garden as a place of innovation, as a place for play and room for manoeuvre, as a contemporary conjunction between architecture and landscape.

Landscape architects and their employers are invited to submit their projects by the 5th February 2009.
The jury will meet in March 2009 and be chaired by the bdla President, Andrea Gebhard.
The festive award ceremony will take place on the 10th September 2009 in Berlin.
