Paeonia suffruticosa ‘Hana Kisoi’ – Japanese Tree Peony, Shrubby Peony

Shrubby peonies are the noblest of peonies and the focus in all gardens from the middle to the end of May. Their large white, pink, red or violet flowers are simple, semi-double or double and some of them pleasantly scented.

Intensive breeding in Europe and the USA has brought excellent new cultivar adapted to our climate. ‘Hana Kisoi’ is a cultivar with bright pink, semi-double and very large flowers.

Shrubby peonies prefer warm sites in full or partial shade and mineral and nutrient-rich, (moderately dry) moist but well-drained soils. Fee-draining loams are best suited.
